Two Chicago creatives, aspiring writer Darius (Larenz Tate) and photographer Nina (Nia Long), meet in a club and share an instant connection. But when Nina decides to move to New York and mend her relationship with her ex-fiancé (Khalil Kain), it leaves Darius heartbroken, and puts the couple’s future in jeopardy. Winner of the Audience Award at the 1997 Sundance Film Festival.

A poet, songwriter, author, workshop facilitator, and educator, Regie Gibson has performed, taught, and lectured at schools, universities, theaters, and various other venues on two continents and in seven countries including Cuba. Regie’s poetry is an integral part of Love Jones; his poem “Brother to the Night (A Blues for Nina)” appears on the movie soundtrack and is performed by the film’s star, Larenz Tate. Dart Adams is a journalist, historian, researcher and an author from Boston who has previously written for the Boston Globe Magazine, Boston Magazine, Bay State Banner, NPR, Complex, Mass Appeal, Okayplayer and ESPN's Andscape. He's the author of "Best Damn Hip Hop Writing: The Book Of Dart" and co-author of the forthcoming "Instead We Became Evil: A True Story Of Survival & Perseverance” (August 9th, 2022).

Films are held outdoors on the Huntington Avenue Lawn, weather permitting.
All bags are subject to inspection by Museum staff. Large bags, coolers, and tall chairs are not permitted.
Per Federal and State law, the MFA welcomes trained service animals. Service animals must be on a leash or tether and under the control of the owner at all times. Emotional support and other animals or pets are not permitted on the Museum campus.
