  • Museum of Fine Arts 465 Huntington Avenue Boston, MA, 02115 United States (map)

Soul Intact

Directed by Ben Cassiani (USA, 2021, 7:25 min.)

Intentional messaging addressing the power of group economics in the Black community. It's a “medicine in the candy” approach to delivering an action plan that has proved effective.

The Panola Project

Directed by Rachael DeCruz and Jeremy S. Levine (USA, 2021,16:39 min.)

Highlights the heroic efforts of Dorothy Oliver to keep her small town of Panola, Alabama, safe from COVID-19. A chronicle of how an often overlooked rural Black community came together in creative ways to survive.

Ubuntu

Directed by Adam Pertofsky (USA, 2022, 77 min.)

Ubuntu shines a light on the Mamas of Cape Town, a group of heroic women who have never been acknowledged, and whose tenacity allowed them to survive, and even triumph over, the cruel hand they were dealt. Together—against the odds and throughout Apartheid—they transformed their communities and became the backbone upon which South Africa was built.

With a pre-recorded Q&A.
